The BlackBird Team

Over a period of several years the BlackBird team has given over 150 webinars and personal demonstrations of its fundraising software to private schools and colleges all over the country. The resulting suggestions and input from the development staffs and from Class Agents and Parent Volunteers have been built into BlackBird's Annual Fund Program and Parents Fund Program. We are a small company devoted to giving outstanding customer service.

Kurt Bleicken

An MIT graduate, Kurt has been building intuitive and powerful database systems for over 20 years. He shares with co-developer Jim Schliestett the belief that software developers should put ease of use as the number one priority. This is particularly important when building a program that will be used primarily by volunteers who use the program on fundraising occasions during the year. Many volunteers are not particularly computer literate.

Jim Schliestett

Jim has been doing high level software development for over 25 years. He and Kurt have worked together on multiple projects over the years. As a developer his focus is always on simplicity of the user interface. Jim is an accomplished musician, and a collector and maker of unusual recordings.

Sam Howe

Sam comes to BlackBird with over 20 years of experience as a Senior Gift Officer with Wellesley College, Phillips Academy and Wheaton College. His advice has helped us create user friendly and effective applications designed to help manage Class Agents and volunteer fundraisers. He is helping introduce schools and colleges to BlackBirdAF and BlackBirdPF.
